The Nahdlatul Ulama Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) has taken the initiative to develop a Reading Corner as a means of improving literacy for Arema (teenage) students. This program aims to foster a reading culture, broaden horizons, and enrich religious and scientific understanding. The Reading Corner will be equipped with a diverse collection of books, including Islamic literature, general knowledge, life skills, and motivational books appropriate for the students' age. In addition to providing books, the program also offers supporting activities such as book discussions, literacy studies, and writing workshops to enhance students' critical thinking and creativity. Furthermore, a comfortable and engaging reading environment will be created to further motivate students to utilize this facility. The active role of the pesantren's supervisors and senior students will also be optimized to guide and inspire Arema students to become more enthusiastic about reading and writing. With the Reading Corner, it is hoped that students will be more active in literacy activities, develop critical thinking skills, and develop reading habits as part of their daily lives. This program is a concrete step towards developing a generation of students who are intelligent, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about learning.
