Declined Voter Participation In The 2024 Elections Of Tulungagung District In The Tiudan Village Area

This study aims to identify and analyze various factors that influence the level of voter participation in the 2024 Pilkada in Tiudan Village, Tulungagung Regency. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach through data collection including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study revealed that low voter participation was caused by several main factors, including minimal political awareness among the community, disappointment with unfulfilled campaign promises, and limited access to relevant information. In addition, this study also highlights the importance of the active role of the community and the effectiveness of political socialization in increasing voter involvement. To support public understanding of their rights and obligations as part of the democratic process, this study recommends more comprehensive efforts, including intensive political education and providing better access to information. With these steps, it is hoped that voter participation in the upcoming Pilkada can increase significantly, so that it not only strengthens the legitimacy of the election results, but also contributes to improving the quality of local government.
