PENGARUH STRUKTUR MAKROMONOMER SUPERPLASTICIZER BERBASIS POLIKARBOKSILAT TERHADAP VISKOSITAS DAN WORKABILITY BETON

Superplasticizer berbasis Polycarboxylate Ether (PCE) telah menjadi bahan tambah kimia yang dominan dalam teknologi beton modern karena kemampuannya meningkatkan dispersi partikel semen dengan dosis yang relatif rendah. Efektivitas PCE sangat dipengaruhi oleh arsitektur molekul makromonomernya, termasuk panjang rantai samping, kerapatan pencangkokan, dan distribusi berat molekul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi struktur makromonomer terhadap viskositas dan workability campuran beton. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan beberapa formulasi PCE dengan variasi panjang rantai polietilen glikol pada kondisi faktor air semen yang tetap. Pengujian workability dilakukan menggunakan slump flow test, sedangkan karakteristik viskositas dianalisis melalui parameter reologi campuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan panjang rantai samping meningkatkan kemampuan dispersi partikel semen sehingga nilai slump flow meningkat dan viskositas plastis menurun. Namun, rantai samping yang terlalu panjang berpotensi menyebabkan segregasi dan menurunkan stabilitas campuran. Sebaliknya, rantai samping yang lebih pendek menghasilkan viskositas lebih tinggi dan workability yang lebih rendah akibat efek steric hindrance yang terbatas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimasi struktur makromonomer sangat penting untuk memperoleh keseimbangan antara kemudahan pengerjaan dan stabilitas campuran beton. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan beton berkinerja tinggi berbasis superplasticizer polikarboksilat.
