Abstract


The demand for electrical energy is increasing. This encourages electricity generation in Indonesia to remain reliable, especially PLTU. The importance of PLTU operational reliability encourages the need for proper maintenance on three-phase induction motors. This research aims to identify damage to the 3 kV pulverizer motor through the measurement of insulation resistance and polarization index. The research methods include literature studies to understand basic concepts and measurement techniques, as well as field studies involving direct measurements, data recording, and documentation of activities. The measurement results show that the pulverizer motor has inter-phase leakage with an insulation resistance value R-S < 10 KΩ, which can cause serious damage to the motor. As a mitigation measure, the problematic motor is replaced with a spare motor that has met the minimum value of the IEEE 43 insulation resistance standard (>100 MΩ). However, the polarization index of the backup motor only reached 1.38, slightly below the minimum standard of 1.5, which was due to moisture as the backup motor had not been in operation for a long time.

Abstrak


Peningkatan kebutuhan energi listrik semakin meningkat. Hal tersebut mendorong pembangkitan listrik di Indonesia tetap andal khususnya PLTU. Pentingnya keandalan operasional PLTU mendorong perlunya pemeliharaan yang tepat pada motor induksi tiga phase. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kerusakan pada motor pulverizer 3 kV melalui pengukuran tahanan isolasi dan indeks polarisasi. Metode penelitian meliputi studi literatur untuk memahami konsep dasar dan teknik pengukuran, serta studi lapangan yang melibatkan pengukuran langsung, pencatatan data, dan dokumentasi kegiatan. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa motor pulverizer memiliki kebocoran antar phase dengan nilai tahanan isolasi R-S < 10 KΩ, yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan serius pada motor. Sebagai langkah mitigasi, motor yang bermasalah diganti dengan motor cadangan yang telah memenuhi nilai minimum standar tahanan isolasi IEEE 43 (>100 MΩ). Namun, indeks polarisasi motor cadangan hanya mencapai 1,38 sedikit di bawah standar minimum yaitu 1,5 yang dikarenakan akibat kelembaban sebab motor cadangan lama tidak beroperasi.
