PUBLICATION ETHICS
JANITA: Journal of Community Service is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.
Authors should:
- Present accurate and objective data
- Ensure originality and avoid plagiarism
- Properly cite all sources
- Avoid multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication
- Disclose any conflicts of interest
- Ensure that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript
Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published based on their academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Editors must:
- Evaluate manuscripts fairly without discrimination
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts
- Avoid conflicts of interest
- Ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving the quality of manuscripts.
Reviewers should:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts
- Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors
- Declare any conflicts of interest
- Review manuscripts only within their area of expertise
Publication Decisions
All manuscripts submitted to JANITA are reviewed through a peer-review process. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s policies.
Plagiarism Policy
JANITA strictly prohibits plagiarism. All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a high level of similarity will be rejected.
Ethical Oversight
If ethical concerns arise regarding a submitted or published manuscript, the editorial team will investigate the issue thoroughly and take appropriate action, including correction or retraction if necessary.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.
